While you’re in Spain, don't miss the opportunity to visit Europe's largest stadium, Barcelona's Camp Nou football stadium, on this tour from Costa Brava. Step onto the football pitch, and visit the FC Barcelona Museum to learn the interesting history of Futbol Club Barcelona (the city’s professional soccer team, known as FC Barcelona or Barça). Then enjoy free time in central Barcelona to grab a bite to eat, wander around Las Ramblas or go shopping. If you choose the later tour option, you’ll finish with a wow moment at the spectacular Montjuic Magic Fountain light show!
After boarding your tour coach at your chosen Costa Brava stop (see below for details), take in views of the beautiful Mediterranean coast and Spanish countryside on the drive to Barcelona. When you arrive in the city, you’ll head straight to Camp Nou football stadium, the biggest stadium in Europe with a capacity for almost 100,000 people!
You have 2.5 hours to explore Camp Nou and its museum at your own pace. Start in the visiting team changing room, and then walk through the stadium’s tunnel onto the football pitch, where you can walk on the grass, following in the footsteps of beloved FC Barcelona players such as Jordi Cruyff, Diego Maradona, Gary Lineker, Josep Guardiola, Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi. Admire the 360-degree view of the thousands of stadium seats from the pitch, and then go back inside the building to visit the chapel, the TV room, the press room, the Fundacio Zone and the presidential box, from where royal figures, politicians and other famous faces watch the Barça matches.
Next, discover the history of the club at the FC Barcelona Museum, inside the stadium. Enjoy a panoramic view of the stadium from the grandstand, and then wander through the museum to learn about the team’s past and see trophies, photographs, sports equipment and team kits that have been collected over the years.
After your Camp Nou stadium tour, you will be taken into central Barcelona and dropped off near Las Ramblas, where you’ll have two hours of free time to have lunch or dinner at a local restaurant (own expense); your tour guide will happily recommend restaurants according to your food preferences and budget. Stroll down Las Ramblas, where Barcelona comes to life, or visit the area’s fashion and design shops before you meet your local guide and board your coach for the return trip to Costa Brava.
If you choose the afternoon departure option, you'll have less free time, after which you'll meet your guide and head to Montjuic, a hill near Placa de Espana that is home to the Magic Fountain. When the sun goes down, this beautiful fountain puts on a spectacular free show that combines dancing water with color, light and music, with the National Art Palace (Palacio Nacional d'Art) serving as a stately backdrop.
