Stroll around the beautiful Medieval town of Montblanc and its old cobbled streets from the 12th century, surrounded by well-preserved Medieval walls and watch towers. There you will find the place where Sant Jordi (Saint George) supposedly killed the dragon and saved the princess... After getting embedded of the flavour of this town, you will follow to the next Medieval site:  the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet, UNESCO World Heritage and a masterpiece of early Gothic art of great importance for Catalan and Spanish history. This Cistercian abbey  is one of the largest in Spain. The austere, majestic monastery, which has a fortified royal residence and contains the pantheon of the kings of Catalonia and Aragon is a really impressive sight. Round off this day with a visit to the very last Moorish village in medieval Catalonia, Siurana, a fairy tale site over a cliff with stunning views.

Enjoy a day around hidden sites in the province of Tarragona, at just 2 hours drive from Barcelona.

You will be picked up at 8:00 am in Barcelona city center and drive south in our comfortable minivan with Wi-Fi included. You will arrive in the Medieval town of Montblanc at around 10:00am and, after a short coffee-break, you will walk around the old streets of this beautiful town originated in the 12th century, surrounded by the well-preserved Medieval walls and watch towers. There, you will visit the place where Sant Jordi (Saint George) supposedly killed the dragon and saved the princess and you'll have some free time to get embedded of the flavor of this nice town.

Just twenty minutes from Montblanc, you find the Royal Abbey of Santa Maria of Poblet, UNESCO World Site, founded by Cistercian monks from France on land conquered by the Moors. Poblet was the royal pantheon of the kings of the Crown of Aragon since James I of Aragon. Peter IV of Aragon, in the 14th Century, made it a condition, under solemn oath at the moment of crowning, that all the Catalan-Aragonese kings be buried there. Within the Monastery facilities, the monks manage a lodging house and a restaurant where they serve heavenly food with fresh ingredients grown locally.

You will visit this beautiful monastery at 12am and have lunch at the restaurant there from 13pm to 14:30pm.

After lunch, you have one hour drive to our next stop:  Siurana, a tale of a village located in an unassailable position over the river where  knights of four counties were needed to conquer it. It was finally conquered to the Moors in 1153 and was the last bastion of the reconquest of Catalunya. If you look over the cliff, you will guess why it was not conquered in three hundred years. There you can still find the footprint of the horseshoe that was left when the last Moorish Princess jumped over the cliff riding on the back of her horse. From 15:30pm to 16:45pm you will have time to enjoy the views in Siurana, and then you'll head back to Barcelona.

Your tour will be back to the city center by 19pm, depending on the traffic conditions.

Dip into the Battle of the Ebro locations and history, learn about the International Brigades and the Spanish Civil War with a stunning landscape background. Enjoy a tasty local lunch & local wine and get impressed with a visit the so-called Wine Cathedral at Pinell del Brai, an amazing hidden architecture gem designed by a direct disciple of Gaudí.

You will be picked up at Barcelona city centre at 8:00 am and drive south with our comfortable minivan for 2 hours. Your first stop will be Gandesa, where you will be visiting the specialized exhibition of the museum with the local guide. Once you've learned about the main facts, we'll take you to the old village of Corbera d'Ebre, where one can understand how much the people of the region suffered during the war which was the worst disaster in its history. When war broke out and the Battle of the Ebro  the town remained very close to the border. The walls of the houses were peppered with machine gun fire. Almost all of the town was destroyed by bombs. The remains were declared worthy of cultural interest, as a Historical Site and it has become a Monument of Peace.

At just 2 km from the village, we can visit a restored trench of around 200 ms, where we can still find all kind of remains and enjoy amazing views, all at once. At around 14:00 pm you'll head back to Gandesa to enjoy traditional cuisine. After lunch, you'll visit Serra de Pàndols by Pinell del Brai. Pinell de Brai is a little Catalan town located between Gandesa and Miravet. It is located in the lands of the Ebro, in the valley, but its eyes also look at the high mountains of Pandols and Cavalls, symbols of the Republican resistance during the Battle of the Ebro. In the mountains of Pandols very young soldiers from the Quinta del Biberón ("Baby bottle"recruits) intervened. Despite their bravery, they lost the 705th mark, the highest in the Sierra. In the second half of August, the Republican troops endured the harsh fascist attacks supported by tons of artillery bombs and Italian-German aviation. The 15th International Brigade honoured its commitment to freedom and made the chain of hills denominated 666 (defended by the British and Lincoln battalions), 609 ( Mac-Pap Canadians) and 602 (defended by the battalion Español-Spanish (Cubans and Latin Americans).  In memory of those who died in the Ebro, the survivors of the Quinta del Biberón built a monument to Peace in 1989. In the following years, on the wall that closes the terrace of the monument, memorial plaques dedicated to different groups were placed.

Pinell del Brai is also known because of its hidden wonderful architecture gem: a Modernist Wine Cellar designed by Gaudi's direct disciple, Cesar Martinell, also known as the Wine Cathedral, which is worth paying a visit before heading back to Barcelona at around 17pm  so that you can get to the city center by 19 pm (depending on the traffic).
